Everyone who has seen Rani Mukerji give a smashing performance as a saucy tart in Saawariya is commenting on the similarities between Rani's and Rakhi Sawant’s speech patterns and body language.

The decision to incorporate elements of Rakhi's personality into the character was taken on the day Rakhi, who's a huge fan of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s work, was invited on the sets of Saawariya when Rani was shooting.

The industry was also pleasantly surprised with the $600,000 gross for Saawariya which was in 85 theatres in North America. Despite many people grumbling that the film is too long and has a weak climax, the word of mouth for the Sanjay Leala Bhansali movie hasn't been all that bad.

According to Boxofficemojo.com, Saawariya has grossed an estimated $600,000 in it's first weekend (November 9–11) at the US box office. The film was shown on 85 screens, with the per screen average working out to $7,058.

By Monday evening, the actual figures should be in.

SAAWARIYA showed a 68% jump in collections, collecting £64,293 on 44 screens on Saturday, taking its total to £102,547 in its first two days. Impressive.
