Even as some Mumbai newspapers claim that actress Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Aditya Chopra are engaged, Rani's father Ram Mukerji issued a press release denying the speculation.

'This is a rumour; the news is not true at all. Rani is busy with her work and she will not do anything secretly,' he said.

Some newspapers claimed Rani and Aditya were engaged recently. The couple have never commented on the relationship and have never been seen together in public.

Aditya's marriage with Payal Chopra reportedly went sour, and the couple are said to have filed for divorce.

A Mumbai tabloid reported that Aditya's father Yash Chopra was upset with his son's relationship with Rani and had threatened to disinherit him.

'Yash Chopra and Aditya talk to each other in office when required but as far as their personal equation is concerned, I wouldn't know anything,' Yash Raj Films spokesperson Monika Bhattacharya is quoted as having said in the tabloid report.
