'I'm not holding my breath for love' - Rani - Apr 23 2007 - 836 Views - Natasha
Rani Mukerji reveals how many in Bollywood think she is the most quarrelsome actor.

For those wondering how Rani Mukerji managed to get into those short skirts in Tara Rum Pum, here is the truth: "I got slim. That's the magic mantra. The minute I was told about the kind of look I'm supposed to carry off in a major part of the film, I knew I had to get seriously slim.

If I had put on those short skirts looking the way I did earlier, I'd have looked pretty stupid," she reveals. It seems Bollywood's Queen Bee got quite tired of those snide remarks about the way she looked. But her new avatar has taken some serious hard work – on the part of her trainer, who had to work overtime.

"Earlier, I'd constantly have fights about my clothes with Manish Malhotra and Sabysachi. Now it is the turn of my new dress designer, Surily Goel, to get the brunt of my exacting nature. All three feel I'm one of the most quarrelsome heroines they've worked with."

Rani, however, likes this reputation and chuckles hard when recounting her fights with the designers. So has the slimming down got to do with some romance? "I'm not holding my breath for it. Love doesn't obey a time frame. In a way, I'm glad I don't have a man in my life.

It gives me the chance to focus completely on my work. But if and when it happens, I'm not going to say 'no' to love just because I'm busy." Well, the lover better not be a dress designer or a fitness trainer. He won't last!
