And now that Rani Mukherjee’s home is organised, she has signed another Yash Raj film, and that too with a new director. Confirms a source close to Rani, “Rani has been totally immersed in getting her house in order.
Her dream house, done up by Sussanne Roshan (and not Twinkle Khanna as reported in a part of the media) had become her primary obsession and that’s why she hasn’t been signing any new films, not because she’s getting married. As for the rumours of her impending marriage, she had laid down bets with her close friend that the date set down in the press - February 10, 2008 - will come and go and she’d remain single. Rani now dares anyone else to set another date. She’ll win the bet again.”

She’s paired for the first time opposite Shahid Kapoor and said with her throaty laugh, “I don’t know if any actress has played a cricketer before, but I’ve been learning cricket on the field for the past two months. I can play the game convincingly now, though not as good as the professionals yet, but I’m glad to be doing work which challenges.” So is she equipped to join the IPL next season? “I don’t know about that! But I’m definitely enjoying cricket. My practical sessions are on full swing.”

The kids are excited and keep screaming, "Rani didi, Rani didi." Didi is fun and games, and one hour later, she turns apologetically and says, "Now I'm all yours, ask me whatever you want."

"Well, there were no traumatic experiences to write home about. Rani wanted to get married and settle down during Mujhse Dosti Karoge. It took some convincing to get that thought off her mind. Today, she's one of the finest actresses we have with an enviable repertoire. Saif has matured as an actor too. I couldn't be happier for them."
